HEAD COACH - TONY MUCCI
About Coach Mucci - Tony’s hockey journey started at Mon Valley Thunder at the age of 4 where he grew his hockey skills and passion for the game while playing for Mon Valley till he was a Squirt. As a Peewee he joined the Amateur Pens 82 birth year team where he played through his 18U season in the Empire West league out of Buffalo & Ontario. Tony also played varsity hockey for the Ringgold Rams.
Tony has been coaching for the past 12 years and has coached Mites all the way up to 19U of those 12 years - 5 years are coaching girls elite hockey. He has been involved in working skill/development camps and clinics and has worked individually doing private lessons. He also has been involved in planning and evaluating tryouts and over seeing player placement at multiple organizations. In the inaugural season of the PIHL girls varsity hockey league he got the opportunity to be an assistant coach of Team West and the past 2 seasons has been the head Coach of team Southwest. Team Southwest won the PIHL varsity girls championship in the 23/24 season.
Tony’s love of hockey, solid foundation of fundamentals and hockey knowledge have earned him the respect the hockey community. Tony is excited to continue coaching at the organization that rooted his strong values and love for hockey! He is excited to coach Elite Girls Tier 2 hockey again this season for the Mon Valley Thunder. Coach Tony believes that with Mon Valley's support, he will continue to help grow girls' hockey and provide more opportunities for girls of all levels in the Pittsburgh area!
